Halfway done
I am really far too tired to be making any kind of blog post so I'll keep it brief for now and elaborate once I've had sleep and coffee. Forgive grammar, continuity and logic errors, please?
I bought myself some particle-board (at least that's what I think it's called) and primed it. It cost next to nothing so I'm more likely to be willing to experiment and try new things on it
I did a lovely boat painting when I tried alla prima last time so I've decided to complete this entire piece without allowing the paint to dry. Above, you can see what it looks like after about 4 hours of work and 2 layers of paint.
Laying turpentine washes over wet oil paint is a VERY interesting and risky procedure. I've pretty much restricted myself to lots of dry-brush and scumbling with single brush strokes of wash in strategic areas. I then wait for the turps to evaporate (about an hour) before working over that area.
